My Review - 

As the title suggests, The Kidnap, this story revolves around a twelve-year-old boy's kidnapping and how the police find him. This short, fast-paced story started when Madan got abducted while playing on the street with his friend Aditya. The kidnappers thought that Madan was the son of a wealthy businessman; what they didn't know was that he was related to the home secretary. 

With the intervention of the home secretary, a task force was prepared, led by DCP Avinash. They have a few hours to find the culprits and bring Madan back to safety, starting the cat-and-mouse chase. The criminals are involved in more than kidnapping, and the police unravel it with time. 

This is the seventh book I read written by Shyam Sundar Bulusu, and here are some common elements of his stories that I observe -

1. They all were fast-paced.

2. Apart from the short story Living Pages, all the books can be finished quickly.

3. The language is explicit.

4. Primarily, the plots are based in the Southside of India, especially Chennai. 

5. The characters' names had south origin mostly. 

6. Stories are always written in black and white; the grey and multi-layer characters are hard to find. 

The author gives a detailed account of the police operation, which makes it entertaining, but a few things set my mood off; I'm not going to reveal them because they contain spoilers. Overall, this story works great for newbies looking for a fast-paced thriller book.
