Interview with Renu Arora

Q.1 Tell us a little about yourself? Perhaps something not many people know?
A. With all due humility, I’m a very good energy healer. Not many people know, however, that I didn’t come into it with any special intuitive “gifts”. I don’t see auras or hear spirits, and I’ve recently discovered that I have aphantasia (when I close my eyes to see a picture…I see black! I am completely unable to visualize the way most people are). I had thought that it was a few people who had amazing visualization skill. Over time, I realized that it was me who was deficient in them. I say this because when I say anyone can do ART, I really mean it. If I can do it, I feel as though anyone should be able to learn the skills to do it.

Q.2 Are we going to read more from you in the near future? Any new project you’re working on?
A. My next project – whenever that is – is most likely going to be an updated version of the current Energy Healing Bible. As you know, the modality I talk about in the book, the Accelerated Release Technique (ART), is something that I have created over time. I worked with other energy healers, learned from them, added some of my own intuition, and eventually I had this incredible protocol for healing. The learning hasn’t stopped. Even since publishing the book ART has changed – some new things have been added, and I’ve found some ways to simplify what is already there – so eventually this will all have to be recorded as well.

Q.3 Why did you choose to write in your particular field or genre? If you write more than one, how do you balance them?
A. I don’t feel like I really had a choice! I have never at any point felt as though ART is “mine”. I’m the conduit for its creation, sure, but I don’t feel like I own it. So when I say it’s an incredibly powerful tool for healing, I’m not saying it out of ego or pride – it’s in awe. From that perspective, to keep it to myself is nothing short of greedy. It does the world a disservice. I want everyone to know what it is, and how to use it for themselves to heal. Writing a book was essential to making this happen.

Q.4 What advice do you have for other energy healers?
A. Please give ART a try. There are more modalities out there than I can count, with practitioners picking and choosing from them to create their own method of healing that works for them. ART is similar in that respect. The difference is that I have deliberately researched every form of energy healing modality I could find in order to build what I call the Energy Picture. The majority of other modalities only access a small section of the picture. And they work great – but for a small subset of all of the potential problems out there. ART provides rules and guidelines for how to address every area. It may not always be the easiest or quickest way, but it works. I welcome other energy healers to take the information I’ve provided and, utilizing their own special, intuitive gifts, find a faster way simply because they can. I’ve drawn out the map. Now that they know what’s on it, I welcome them to use it and find a faster way from point A to point B.

Q.5 What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?
A. I write better when I have big blocks of time to do it in. I’ll just take whole days off, or even a weekend away, just to write. The rest is the regular “see clients, run the household, take care of family” routine of a mompreneur.

Q.6 When did it dawn upon you that you wanted to be a writer?
A. I don’t want to be a writer. I have to be a writer. I write out of necessity. I don’t even love writing, mostly because I’m such a perfectionist about it. I am unable to just sit down a do a verbal dump. I revise as I write because I am very particular about being understood, so things have to come out just so. That said, I love having written. I do get a deep sense of satisfaction when I’ve finally put down my pen and read my final version. I like my own writing. I figure if I enjoy reading my own words on the page, somebody else might enjoy it, too.

Q.7 In your book, you said “Everything is Energy”, What do you mean by that?
A. I mean that every single thing that can be translated into thought, is energy. From a scientific perspective, we have E=MC2. Energy equals mass times the square of the speed of light. We can calculate the energy in a tangible object (something with mass). We also know that light is energy too. And sound, and electromagnetism. So, we understand that intangibles have energy, too. All of those things vibrate at their own energetic frequency.

The thought is energy, too. Thoughts alone can set off chain reactions in the body. Anxiety can make you nauseous with butterflies in your stomach. Anger can raise your heart rate and make your face flushed. Joy can make you smile and cry and make your heart feel full enough to explode. I have clients with bodies full of stuck negative emotions. Let’s say anger, for example. They resonate at the frequency of anger more than they should, so they feel angry all the time. Release the trapped energy, and the anger is no longer there to be called upon. Clients are also missing positive frequencies. Add those in and they are suddenly experiencing happiness they could never tap into before.

Q.8 Is there a difference between being religious and being spiritual?
A. Absolutely! Spirituality is simply accepting the understanding that we are all spiritual beings having a human experience. We are here on a journey of learning and understanding, and that our natural state is one of joy, happiness, and love. We learn through our trials and tribulations, but our inner guidance system (call it your Higher Self, the Universe, God…whatever you want) is there to lead us back out of them. We’re meant to take the learning and move on, not stay stuck in misery. That is the essence of Spirituality. There are far too many religions out there to provide a fair comparison, so I’ll leave it at that.

Q.9 How do you come up with the title of your book?
A. As I said, I’m trying to provide the most comprehensive reference book for the world of energy. In my mind, I had two choices: “Encyclopedia” or “Bible.” I figured having Bible in the title would be audacious enough that people would see it, say “Who does she think she is calling her work the bible of anything?” and be intrigued enough to pick up a copy.

Q.10 What were your goals and intentions in this book, and how do you feel you achieved them?
A. My goal for this book is two-fold. One, describes the world of energy as completely as possible, in the most engaging way that I can. This whole healer journey has left me completely in awe and it was important to me to convey that feeling to my readers. I think I was successful there. My second goal was to teach how to utilize all of that information to heal yourselves and others through my process, the Accelerated Release Technique. The feedback has suggested that it is still a little too complex for the person new to energy healing to pick it up and use right away. Those with more knowledge are able to understand it more easily. In my next edition, I will strive to break it down a little further so that truly anyone will be able to use it to heal.

Q.11 What does your family think of your writing?
A. They have always supported me. My mom is constantly getting copies from me to give to her friends and family members.

Q.12 What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your book?
A. The process is painfully slow!! Every time I thought we were going to be just a few weeks away from printing, there would be yet another step that had to be taken care of. From multiple rounds of editing to formatting, graphics and other the tasks needed to make it all come together, I was beginning to feel like we’d never get there. Now I know better what to expect.

Q.13 What makes your book stand out from the crowd?
A. I don’t know that there’s another book quite like this out there. As I said, there are tons of modalities that exist, each describing one piece of the puzzle. I haven’t seen anything else that tries to paint a bigger picture.

Q.14 Do you have any unique and quirky writing habits?
A. I write on paper and transcribe onto my computer. Creativity flows more easily for me when writing by hand.

Q.15 What do you consider to be your best accomplishment?
A. The Accelerated Release Technique. I don’t say this lightly, but I honestly get to witness miracles happening every single day. If I can get enough people to give it a try, it can change the world. People don’t need to suffer the way they do.

Q.16 What are your sources of hope, strength, comfort, and peace?
A. My family and friends have always been behind me, but they haven’t always understood what I do. Over the last few years, I’ve developed a community of practitioners whom I have taught, and from whom I have learned. They are as excited about this as I am so I no longer feel that I’m doing this alone. With them beside me, I have all the support I need.

Q.17 Who edited your book and how did you select him/her?
A. Tellwell publishing. I have another friend who is an author, and as luck would have it, she published her book at the same time as I was looking to publish mine. I saw that she used Tellwell, read their reviews on Google, and gave them a call.

Q.18 Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?
A. Oprah Winfrey. You might have noticed how single-minded I am about sharing ART with the world, right? An endorsement from her would make all my dreams come true.

Q.19 What is your favorite book and why?
A. I don’t read as much as I’d like to, but I’m still enamored with the Harry Potter series. It resonates with me because much of the time I feel like I’m a wizard doing magic - healing magic in my case. And the revelation that the most powerful form of magic is Love gives me the shivers because it is the truth. Embracing love and letting go of negative thoughts and emotions is the power underlying the ability to be unhurt by the slings and arrows of the world. It protects as it heals.

Q.20 Share the experience of your journey so far?
A. My journey has been incredible! Everything is a learning for me, so I have been thrilled with each new development. Whether it is book reviews or interviews or signings or random sales on Amazon…things are happening! It’s so wonderful to have my book finally out of my brain and into my hands. I’m savoring every moment.
