Q.1 Please introduce yourself - Where are you from? How long have you been blogging? What’s the name of your blog? What made you decide to start a book blog?
A.
Hi, I am Ilika from Bangalore, an aspiring writer/poet. Will be releasing my first book very soon. I have a book blog by the name of Elysian Bookgraphy. Always wanted to create my own blog and was also planning for it for a long but could not start it for many reasons. But when we all got stuck in our houses during the lockdown phase of COVID-19, the blog finally came into existence.

Q.2 What is your favorite genre and book?
A.
My favorite genre in books is Mystery/Thriller. But my all-time favorite book is and will be Harry Potter. ALWAYS. It has a special place in my heart.

Q.3 What one piece of advice do you wish you’d had when you first started book blogging?
A.
That one must be regular and proactive in posting on the blog.

Q.4 What piece of advice you would like to give to other bloggers?
A.
Advice, hmm… I guess I am still learning and not overly experienced yet, but ya, for those who are starting a blog now, they should ensure to post original content and should try to be regular.

Q.5 How many books are actually on your bookshelf/shelves right now?
A.
Around 80-90.

Q.6 If you could be a character from a book for just one day. Who would you be and why?
A.
I love Hermione’s character from the Harry Potter series. She is intelligent, smart. Over a period of time, her character evolves from a studious and disciplined young girl to a brave and loyal friend. Uses her ingenious brainpower to assist those who needed her help, including her best friends. No one can ever imagine what Harry and Ron would have done alone without Hermione. It was totally impossible for them to take a single step forward if she wasn’t there. Hermione is consistently the character who puts the clues together, who comes up with the solutions, and who makes plans work.

Q.7 Is blogging your profession or just a hobby? Does your family support you? What’s their take on this?
A.
It is great when your hobby becomes your profession. Yes, it is my profession. My family loves what I do and is very supportive.

Q.8 What do you think is the best strategy for getting more visitors to a blog?
A.
Use of perfect hashtags, giving a unique title and as I have mentioned earlier, to gain more traffic trying to be regularly active.

Q.9 What are the top 3 characteristics you look for in a good book?
A.
A great cover attracts more readers. The title of the book is very important. But above all, it's the narration, the storyline, which plays a major role. It should be well-written and should be engaging. If it is successful in captivating its readers, then it is a winner. Nothing else matters.

Q.10 What are your favorite Instagram/Bookstagram/Booktuber accounts?
A.
I Don’t have anyone specific. There are many great accounts. I do check some of them; they are doing a great job.
